Yeah it can be done, for all of you who say it can't -- you obviously need to do
your homework.
wmp.inf - located in \windows\inf
=2 key items=
First - [WMPUninstKey] is there but has not script actions.
Second - Bottom part of the .inf you will find this
PROMPT_UNINSTALL_COMPLETE = "Microsoft Windows Media Player uninstall is now complete."
CONFIRM_UNINSTALL="Are you sure you wish to uninstall the Microsoft Windows Media
Player?"
TITLE_UNINSTALL="Microsoft Windows Media Player Uninstall"
Plus in the registry you will find this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer]
"BlockUninstall"="Yes"
huh....insteresting isn't it.....if it's impossible to uninstall why would they need
to block such an action by a registry key, and what about the other point I brought
up? a Prompt to uninstall in the file it's self.
Anyone care to help figure this one out?
