Xp has inbuilt ability to scan and OCR docs.
This ability was licenced from Xerox, despite the fact that every scanner uses it's
own ocr program much better than XP built in generic hit or miss form
If you are determined to use the inbuilt XP version, if your scanner will let you,
it will use the Xerox/nwwia folder as tempory holding place for the files while it
processes them.
It is perfectly harmless so leave it alone.
the same applies to the redundant frontpage folder in XP.
That is there for people who have created webpages with 9x and frontpage express.
the files that have been created look for that folder to hold tempory information,
while they are being changed. ignore that one as well. If you can't ignore and wish
to "delete an undeleteable file" in wiindows XP follow these steps taken from http://www.dougknox.com
(only his post pertains to files, you can change it to pertain to folders/dirs)
Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open. Close all open programs. Click Start,
Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
Leave Task Manager open. Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the
directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in. At the command prompt
type DEL where is the file you wish to delete. Go back to
Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.
Close Task Manager.
to change it to delete a folder instead of DEL use RMDIR where
is the name of the folder/directory you wish to delete..
