Hi,
I have a similar problem. Actually it's the exact opposite problem. I don't want
settings to be remembered for each folder, so I have (and have always had) that option
turned off. Even so, Explorer appears to ignore my wishes and remembers each folder
setting anyway!
I even followed your advice:

But after going into a folder and changing the column widths, I went back into Regedit
and there it was, Explorer saved the appearance of that folder in the registry when
it wasn't supposed to!
I have experienced this problem with various versions (XP, 2000, IE5.0, IE5.5, IE6.0)
with and without various service packs.
Anyone else experienced this?
