I knew what article you were talking about...
Can't say that Duke 3D at 320 by 200 works "beautifully" though. That's damn ugly
resolution. The source code for Duke was just released a couple months ago, so Windows
ports are starting to appear, a much better way to run duke in XP. Try here.

Personally, I have to restart XP in VGA mode to run Duke or Doom (I use Doom Legacy
now). Probably because of my flat screen.
Oh, and Quake 1 does not run in XP. (Although again there's a port available).
