This card reader is manufactured by ECS and its firmware is locked to work with only
certain mobos. I ran into same problem with MSI board. Even thought pins match
to USB header, the reader will only work on mobo it "recognizes" from firmware.
I noticed that several of ECS's new boards have a dedicated "card reader header".
I suppose someone could hack the firmware, but it's not going to be me. ECS makes
another reader, UCR-61s, that is identical except for the restrictive firmware.
I just consider myself SOL with the "2b" version.
