Backup. Backup. Backup.
Even though WindowsXP may or may not be the best operating system, it is what we
do to it in the way of installed apps and tweaks that usually cause the problems.
I always recommend installing just th OS into a C: partition. D: is for all data
and programs.
Then use a program like Drive Image or Ghost to regularly make images of C: onto
D: (10 minutes with Drive Image).
I also backup D: to a second hard drive
All this saves a ton of time when there are problems.
