I know this is a really old issue, but I will add my two cents: The Diamond MX400 sound card is not supported by anything above Windows 98. Diamond (now known as SonicBlue) are not planning on releasing a NT/2000/XP driver. In fact, their record of product support is pretty appalling in general. If your mobo supports onboard audio, this might actually be better than the MX400 in Windows XP.
