This page at PC Magazine's website is part of their annual report on service and reliability. They say that XP is the biggest reason that PC reliability improved from last year's report to this year's report. And I'm sure that if MS thought that AMD was ripping off it's name for Windows, they would be in court in 10 seconds suing them. Maybe they are taking the "imitation is flattery" point of view and are happy that AMD is calling their chip "CP."
