Hello, I recently built my own computer and had that message to when playing games,
like neverwinter nights mainly. I fixed my own electronic equipment and computer
software problems as they occured. Took me 2 hours to fix that error microsoft visual
c++ runtime. It is related to your motherboard and or software conflicts. Both these
things will give this error.
If you own a asus motherboard via chipset you must check for bios updates and flash
it. This was what I did to fix it. I had a version 1010 bios and used the asus update
bios flash utilty which came with my motherboard drivers and easily flashed it.
This fixed all myvideo card gliche problems and microsoft runtime errors. Make sure
the bios drivers are the correct ones or your computer willl get messed up , but
you can always reflash it to fix it if you do mess up.
Second you will get that error if you have mcfee virus scanner enabled and microsoft
outlook 2002 software installed. There is a bugg issue warning about this topic in
the xp help search library, just type that error in the help menu and look for it.
It wil explain the bugg. I repair computers alot so im sure this will fix problems.
Also install the most up to date direct x version and get all the most recent drivers
for your video card. Goodluck
