I encountered a problem with lsass.exe while 'personalizing' my system. Lsass.exe
took up 85+% of the CPU. Althought the symptom was different the cause may be the
same:
your security settings are not compatible with the active-x settings. Reboot in Safe
mode, reset the 'security' to medium and/or use MMC security add-in and import the
default INF file from the /windows/security/templates/. Also, remove any utilities
that may reset the 'security' level at startup.
