I'm thinking the following:
Roll back the OS to a few days ago, while not connected to the internet. Then block
ports 135, 139, and 445 using the XP firewall, or a firewall in general, or a router.
Then connect up. It should be okay at that point.
Apparently this exploit is used through those ports listed above (MS-DS, Net BIOS,
and epmap), and just blocking the ports after the fact do not fix the issue. This
is a nation wide problem as of today. :/
