The rpc encountering a problem and shutting down ur pc is the latest worm to hit,
for a quick fix goto http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en
select either 3 or 4 depending on whether you have 2x or xp. Put ur modem onto
standby mode, run the fix, restart your pc. Good luck and update ur firewalls.
