I was able to recover fully by over-riding BootMagic auto-visibility on my XP-Home partition (manually setting the visibility properties for NTFS, Pri-1, in my case). I'm just glad I found this thread and was able to piece together what I needed to do. M$ and PQ sites were a bust.
