Ok, my problem was that, i had only one partition on my hard disk and i couldn't
uninstall the OS from there. I tried for the osuninstall.exe, but mysteriously, i
was missing the log file for that. I tried re-installing with the CD from XP itself,
but it reinstalled, but kept all the old file and couldn't partition the disk either.
So this is what i did.
This only helps if you want to un-install and re-install XP and partition your Hard
Disk while you are at it.
** Jesus saves! Saves you, but not your work! So make sure that you do a good back
up of the system, before attempting any re-installation etc.
** Insert the CD with XP on it.
** Go to set up (press F2 when the computer starts)
** Go to boot options
** Disable booting from floppy or hard drive(Shift+1), or some other key like that(
i dunno where you got your computer from, but mine is a Dell)
** Save changes and exit
** Select Windows XP Setup from the succeeding menu
** When you are prompted with the options, select the drive on which XP is located
and choose format
** Hope you have done the back up! DOH!
** Format the drive
** You can chose to partition the drive at this stage
**Proceed with the rest of the installation
**And thats it!
Hope this was of any use to you!
