Run, cmd, chkdsk /? Firewall and anti-virus, in theory, do not need to be turned
off, but you may find that, depending on the nature of the problem and which anti-virus
program you use, that the latter may need to be disabled. Do NOT be connected to
the internet. Given that whatever the problem(s) is/are, however, I suggest that
the first thing to do would be to uninstall diskkeeper, to see if that remedies the
situation.
