There is a simple solution to getting the FS2710 to run under Windows 2000 SP1/2/3 on both FAT & NTFS. DON'T follow the instructions or methods provided by Canon.Their support is lousy when it come to any of their products. To run the FS2710 under Win 2000. 1) Download and intall the latest winaspi drivers from adaptec vers 4.70 or better. 2) Unzip and run the winaspi install via the Windows GUI. 3) Reboot 4) Windows will automatically detect the SCSI card 5) Use the generic operating system SCSI drivers. 6) Select the AIC 7850 PCI SCSI driver.Ignore the warning about your system going wobbly 7) Re Boot 8) Install the latest canoscan software from canon ( 4 folders 4 diskettes ,open folder 1 and click on instal) BEFORE INSTALLING make sure any previous installs are removed. 9) Use Canoscan auto configure scsi device 10) Open Canoscan and check that the software via settings has found the SCSI and scanner..(should be automatic) For XP users this should also work if not try another AIC 7800 range SCSI driver. These drivers are installed generically with the OS so don't do any auto detects.Windows won't see anything. Manually install the SCSI driver You may have to also configure the mem address and IRQ. This is a method I've worked out after many frustrating hours spent trying to get the damn thing working WITHOUT SUPPORT FROM CANON. cheers Mike
