You have to be very handy with computer hardware. First go you self a ground-strap
and put it on. Second, open the computer case. Third, find your cd-rw. Forth, at
the back of the device you will find several sockets. The one with the longest socket
(about 10 or 12 double rows of pins) is the one you should use. Fifth, on the top
of the cd-rw, there should be a diagram or instructions that shows how to set this
device to either master or slave. Follow the instruction. Now, dig out your mother
board user manual. Open to the page that instruct you how to install hard-drives
and other plug-in devices. There should be instructions telling you what is primary
and secondary channel and where to find them. follow the instruction to the last
word.
However, I seriously doubt that this is necessary. I have a cd-rw connected to the
secondary-salve of my IDE-ATA port and it works fine.
