re: It still doesnt work! :( Monday, September 1, 2003 at 7:20 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by william (1 messages posted) hey guys and gals, i have been wresting with this issue for quite some time as well. and Marcs suggestions above helped me fix 2 machines so i thank marc and all others for the help with those!! but unfortunately now i have a box that i am stuck on. i tried deleting the catroot2 folder and re-registering those dlls but i still can't get the cryptographic service running and still get that "setup could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf" message when i try to run the security update. this machine is running XP Home, so that group policy fix doesn't apply does it? well, regardless, i do not have a start menu on this machine (another nice side effect of blaster) so i can't figure out how to run modify group policy stuff. if anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!
