Same problem here except I am on a satallite modem. The laptop was still under warrenty so I sent it back to Dell. They replaced the Mother board and updated the Bios. The problem occured just as a bolt of lightning struck not too far away. I tried putting in another nic and it also said the samething. I am gussing something on the motherboard got fried. I guess I have to replace the motherboard in my Demension 8100 desktop now.
