Just found something similar on a customer's PC. Boot to DOS and look in Windows\System
folder for NBRUTE.SCR - it may have the 'hidden' attribute set so DIR with a /a switch.
Delete it. Boot in SAFE mode to get access to Regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- you may see another Winsock2 driver there that connects to nbrute.scr. Delete
the entry and check the other Run entries as well for similar. This type of virus
or trojan can reinstall itself but it should be safe if you delete nbrute.scr. Sophos
AntiVirus don't know of this yet so I've emailed it to them. Sound like a new version
of the 'Spybot' trojan. Run a firewall - Agnitum Outpost is free and very good.
Hope this helps. Mike
