I'm having the same problem with a very similar set up (home desktop has Home XP, work laptop has Pro XP -- connected via a router. both can access internet but I can't get home desktop to be seen on the new workgroup.) XP firewall is disabled and third party firewall is configured to allow network. Have tried all the commonly found troubleshotting and problem fixes. More help? Ben
