Question about 'How do I use the built-in CD burning in Windows XP?'

I have a question about about rewriting on a CD. I am using Windows XP on a HP Pavillon. I am recording data on a CD-RW but when I try to change or delete any info it won't let me. It says they are READ ONLY files. Help! I specifically bought CD-RW's so I could update and change my documents as I needed to. Thanks.
