Marc,
I have a nice 32-bit DOS-based chess program that will run under XP but will crash
if it gets docked. It requires TrueColor and 1024 x 768 capability on the graphics
card. It highlights the computer's move with halos, thereby addressing the biggest
complaint I have with chess programs.
If you want I copy, I'll send you a zip. It's freeware, but it's normally distributed
in a large package of similar programs.
