Tweaking msconfig....

I am running Windows XP Home Edition and I am trying to "neaten" up my entire pc. My question is this: How can I remove the files in msconfig under the startup tab? Files that I have unchecked and I don't want them being there. (I hope this didn't confuse anyone) Thanks for the help.
