hi all....iam back...

i am on xp home, and i keep getting this error when trying any audio files in windows
media player

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound
device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in
use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly.

i posted a few days back and tried what the guys suggested but it didnt work

i have unistalled the driver and reinstalled. I can hear all the windows sounds such
as clicks and error sounds, but no music or film sounds

please help....and its a brand new laptop i have,

everything was working until i accidently uninstalled the soundmax software...but
after replacing it, it still didnt work
