Win XP & Partition Magic 7.0

I've been trying to create a new partition on my hard drive. however during the firs
stage of partitioning I get an erro telling me that there are files open on my hard
drive.
How do I close these files?
My Disc is partitioned into 2 drives. One has Win XP loaded on it the other has Red
Hat Linux 9.0.
