something odd while starting an application

I hate to post before trying to figuire this out but its got me worried. I found
an odd program in my start menu this afternoon. It is called CleverCrackers. I started
it to see what it did(stupid) and wher it started to load it gave a progress indicator.
About 5 seconds after starting the program, my comp. started making an odd noise.
Could this have harmed my mobo or something? It was not normal harddrive loading.
