Well this used to happen to me alot but that was a long time ago so I forgotten how 
to fix it but the aboutblank page if you wanna fix that just goto your tools menu 
on top of your browser and click internet options and under address type in the URL 
of the homepage that you would like it to start on like google or yahoo or MSN Sorry 
I couldnt help more...
