i was having this problem on a hp omnibook 900b...microsoft reckon it's to do with
faulty hardware. i took all the peripheral devices off (usb stuff, pcmcia network
card, managed battery, etc.) and still had the error. read this thread, whacked the
128mb ram expansion stick out and it worked a treat. thanks guys
