1st, are the icons just hidden? Have you tried clicking on the << in the taskbar
just to the left of the system tray to see if the icons are hidden.
2nd, look in your Event Viewer under Administrative Tools on the Start menu to see
if any error messages have been logged when Windows Explorer crashes.
