But I finally found the culprit. It's me. Actually the problem is not with Office but a quirk in the way it handles one bakckup file. I like to clean up my hard drive by using various methods and one or more of these will search for BAK files and delete them regardless. One of these BAK files is excpected to be there by Office and if it is not.....gues what happens! This file is called DATA.BAK. Do not delete it!!!
