I have been able to connect to the internet from my win98se machine through my winxp
machine. I had to use a proxy (AnalogX Proxy which is free) installed on the XP machine.
When you install the proxy software, read the readme that opens up at the end of
installation as it is full of useful info. On the WIN98 machine you must install
a gateway address (from your ISP. When you logon check the connection properties
for the server IP address that you are connected to.) The XP machine must have ICS
enabled and both machines must have private IP addresses and subnet masks assigned
to the internal connection. DHCP, DNS, & WINS must be disabled on the 98 machine
and also on the XP machine's NIC that connects to the client (98) machine. Good Luck!
:-)
