Microsoft must change things to keep us using our Minds. Here is what works.
Open "My Computer"
In the Menu Bar click "Tools" | "Folder Options..."
The "Folder Options" window opens with the "General tab selected.
Now select the radial beside "Show common task in folders". Select the "Apply" button
then click the "OK" button. The window closes.
Now to your left in the "My Computer" window you have three selection windows: 1st.
"System Task", 2nd. "Other Places" and 3rd. "Details".
The 3 rd. selection window ("Details") is the area of interest, here you will see
those ".jpg", ".bmp" etc. file extensions when you select them without opening an
application.
I know this is not want we want but it is all that "Microsoft" left us with. It is
however better than nothing. I, like everyone else, enjoyed using the "View" as a
Web Page" function in the older versions of Windows Explorer. This is why I also
have windows 98SE loaded on my computer. If you are interested in loading your old
Win. 98 or earlier Win 95 on the same computer you will have to fdisk, partition,
format and then reload the older windows first, then load Win XP to the next partition.
A search on "loading multiple Operating Systems" will get you to some interesting
reading. The record number of Operating Systems on a single computer (I believe)
is 23.
I hope this helps
Earl
