It sounds like it could be a variant of this trojan hijacker. Regardless, since we
don't know this is a good place to start. Download the CWShredder tool towards the
bottom of this page and run it. Note, there's also a download to the VB6 Runtime
libraries, which you may or may not need in order to run the tool. Download it too,
just in case you need it.

Clear out your TIF and other temp files. Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel -
Internet Options. Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files,
choose to delete all Offline content.
Next run Spybot Search & Destroy: Spybot S&D Close all running programs, install then
reboot. Start it and go online and press the 'search for updates' tab. Download all
updates that aren't optional.
Close all browser windows, then start it in Easy mode and run the scan. Then click
'Check All', and fix everything SpybotSD labels in red. Restart your computer. Note:
It creates two shortcuts on your start menu, Advanced has other features. Easy mode
just scans for spybots.
Just to make sure: 'Hijack
This' Unzip 'HT' into a new folder. Double click the .Exe file to
run it. Choose Scan. It will display a list. Most of the things you see listed are
necessary or required entries, so don't fix anything, until you know which items
to fix. Hijack This Tutorial
One good program for prevention, is SywareBlaster. After you install it, reboot.
Then download updates for it and follow instructions. It doesn't need to be running
at all to protect your system.
