You may indeed have a virus. The newer bad-boys are trained to turn off antivirus,
spywareblockers and firewalls if needed. Can you get to the internet ? Go to and
run housecall.antivirus.com. Also download Stinger utility from
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and run it. If a particular virus is mentioned
in the housecall scan, you may want the specific removal tool from Norton website.
Norton also recommends turning off the System Restore (virus hide in these files
and cannot be removed).
