The main unit is an XP with built in LAN. The other has a card. Having never set up a network I just went out and bought a regular network cable but get the unplugged message. Someone mentioned a crossover is needed if I don't use a router or hub. Is this like an adapter that goes on one end? I hate going crazy over such a simple thing.
