well, actually the reason should be the motherboard chipsets.....the mainboard chipsets
are the main problem.....that is why a different mainboards with the same chipsets
usually work. I often swap test hard drives with OS's already installed in to systems
to isolate software problems from Hardware issues....and usually mainboards with
same chipsets boot up nicely.
