Boot to the 98 boot disk, run FDISK, delete the non-DOS partition, (NTFS shows as non-DOS). Reboot to the XP CD and run setup, at some point setup will ask you where to install, and how to format, BE SURE YOU READ WHAT IS ON THE SCREEN, DON'T JUST CLICK AWAY LIKE A MANIAC. :-)
