Guess steverz you have never been hijacked or infested with adware before.. These programs work very well for the novice instead of telling them to hack registry keys and such. A lot of spyware does not show up in the Add remove programs list. I have been using adaware and spybot for 2 years as a quick fix instead of getting down and dirty with the registry and such and never had a problem. Plus both have a rollback feature if you happen to remove something by mistake. These programs are a very good complement to antivirus and are a must for all the malicious spyware and adware in todays web. You pretty much are telling people this " Dont install antivirus cause that is a major cause of computer problems. just uninstall the virus from add or remove programs. " I am sure you know as well as i do viruses do not show up in add or remove programs. Same with a lot of adware and spyware. Just my 2 cents..
