I have to ask why is this a bad idea?
That is how I did mine, although I wrote zeros to the hard drive first, format c:
and put ME on (only the essentails) and put xp on.
I had to do it this way because my ME are on restoration discs through Gateway. I
did much reading on the subject and just about everywhere I read it told me that
sometimes when XP upgrade asks you for the ME disc, it won't reconize restoration
discs.
This is the way I did mine and I've had no problems and I love it. How would you
tell someone to upgrade to XP from ME with restoration cds? Is there a better way?
Let me know so I know in the future if I ever have to re format again. Or are you
speaking of a full version of XP Home Edition? Not an XP upgrade?
Thanks
LB
