I seem to have a problem here. My friend that lives nearby and he uses BT and gets NICE download speeds. 100kb+ and such. Me on the other hand I am trying to download stuff using it and I get 1-5 kb per sec. I get like 8 kb/s in UPLOAD speed but very crappy download speed. Normally I download from sites at 80 KB/s and sometimes higher. My DSL is connected from the phone jack to the external modem and from there to the USB port on my pc. I tried searching around and I found a site that shows what open ports you have and whatnot. I have ALL my ports on STEALTH. I have NO firewall up as I deleted Zonealarm pro, and when i goto Network connections and properties, the Firewall option is NOT on. My friend says the more you upload the faster you download but I left it downloading for 8 hours and came back and I was still getting 2kb/s He has been downloading stuff using that for months while I have just started. Does it save the amount you upload over time or something?
