The problem is quite simple.
When the explorer restarts after it's crashed, it sends a message to the applications
having icons in the tray, so that they can put them back there. If an application
doesn't take that into account, its icons wan't be back in the tray once the explorer
is restarted ; that's why some icons disappear while others don't.
Bottomline is if one application's icon doesn't show up after a crash, the only thing
to do is to restart the application (possibly after killing it with the task manager).
There's nothing you can do about that.
