On the "E" icon, right click and select properties, from there click on the shortcut tab of properties, and towards the bottom it has a field called Run - there select to open Maximized. You can set the properties of any shortcut like this - but it's been my experence that when you click on a link from a web page it reverts to what ever size Windows has given. Pain to me too - mine barely open enough to view two lines of data unless of course I'm opening from the shortcut I edited.
