I'm using an EXTERNAL MaxOptix 2.3 GB magneto-optical disk drive running under Windows XP Pro. If I attempt to shut off the drive before 27 seconds have elapsed after last closing a file I get a delayed write back error message. It says that data may have been lost but that does not appear ever to have been the case. I've always been able to open the same file again. How can I tweak the registry to allow a shorter time period than 27 seconds?
