System freezes when I go online Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 9:26 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Potsyburger (30 messages posted) I'm running xp pro on my machine and have been for the last 12 months. All of a sudden when I connect to the internet, the whole computer freezes up. Can't ctrl alt del, all I can do is reboot. Sometimes I only get to the 'verifying username' window before it locks up. I've only been able to stay on line for maybe 45 secs if I actually make it through. Then it locks up. I formatted the drive, it worked for a day, then it's doing the identical thing again. Tested the modem on another machine ( this one now ) and no worries. Everything else is working perfectly. God i hope someone out there can help...........
