CWS hijacker is NOT a virus. It's a spyware trojan. There are many variants of that
hijacker. The Shredder only targets that particular hijacker.
Open the CWShredder and click the Check for updates tab. Once they're downloaded,
close all browser windows, sign off and run it by choosing Fix. It will clean as
it scans, and show you the results.
Clear out your TIF and other temp files. Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel -
Internet Options. Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files,
choose to delete all Offline content. Clear out Cookies. Also, go to Start - Find
- Files or folders - in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit - select all -
File - delete. Empty the contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder,
if you have one. Empty Recycle bin.
If it turns out that it isn't a CWS hijacker, run SpybotSD and Hijack This after,
if need be.
SpybotSD Close all running programs, install then reboot. Start it
and go online and press 'search for updates' tab. (NOTE: you may need to try different
mirrors, as there's often problems with servers being overloaded). Download all updates
that aren't optional. Close all browser windows, then start it in Easy mode and run
the scan. Then click 'Check All', and fix everything SpybotSD labels in red. Restart
your computer.
'Hijack This' Unzip 'HT' into a new folder. Close all browser windows
and run it offline. Double click the .Exe file to run it. Choose Scan. It will display
a list. Most of the things you see listed are necessary or required entries, so don't
fix anything YET, until you know which items to fix. For a description on the entries
in the log, check here:

If AFTER checking the tutorial, you still need advice on what to fix or are unsure,
post your log on one of these forums, and someone will advise you. Please let them
know why you're posting the log, and what you've already tried.

To help prevent further problems, I suggest you installed SpywareBlaster for now.
Then check out the other link for some ideas. SpywareBlaster is one good one for
protection/prevention. It doesn't need to be running to protect your system. There's
also SpywareGuard, which works well in conjuntion with it. SpywareBlaster
Additionally, check out this post by Tony Klein, a security expert, for other suggestions
and info: So how did I get infected in the first place?
