Hello,
I just upgraded this XP Pro SP1 box to High speed cable. The cable people used the
ethernet card in the system to connect the modem. Now when the system boots, it will
hang after the energy star message. The only way for me to get the system to boot,
is to then hit the reset button.(at which point the system boots as normal) This
only happens on the FIRST BOOT on a cold system. After the system has been running
for a bit, the problem seems to disapear. The computer is only about 1 month old.
Does anyone have any ideas??........
Ps, this only started happening AFTER the cable modem install.
Thanks Much!!
Clint
