Manufacturer recovery CDs vary so much in their content that ther is only one way
to find out, insert the CD as see if the XP System File Checker can use it.
You'll want to read this MS TechNet article:

0x0000007A or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
The article says that it's not uncommon for the problem to be caused by faulty memory
or by problems in the mass storage controller subsystem, which makes sense since
atatpi.sys (a mass storage controller system file) is noted.
