My computer has been operating quite well for the last couple of months but then out of the blue a problem emerged. While running a disc check, the computer stopped half way through the operation. When I tried to correct it I noticed that the screen was frozen and the hard drive was not turning,(no hard drive light or sound). I called up the task manager but that was in vain and I had to turn the computer off via the main button. This happened about three times and I used system restore to hopefully correct it but to no avail either. However the next time I tried to run the disc check it worked. Would someone out there know if this is a problem and what to do to correct it? I am running XP Home. Also, there was no other program running at thesame time. Thanks. Regards John.
