Steve, have you updated the definition files for the Spyware? Also, run these applications
after disabling your internet connection, or disconnecting from the internet. As
regards the popups, download and install google toolbar:
http://toolbar.google.com
for the popups that come when you are offline,
click start, select run and type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and click Ok.
Scroll down, and select the messenger service. Double click it and select the startup
type as disabled. Click apply and click ok. Restart the system.
Next, update your virus definition fines, and perform a full system scan.
Lastly, install a firewall. Zonealarm, is a good one, and is free.
Your system should breathe a little better.
